Ritter Sport

Ritter SPORT was born out of a love story between Alfred E. Ritter, a German confectioner, and Clara Göttle, a candy shop owner in 1912. As partners in both business and life, the duo began creating high-quality chocolate bars in Stuttgart, Germany. The company thrived, seven years later, and moved to a bigger shop founding the line AlRiKa (Alfred Ritter Cannstatt). Three cream flavors were produced by this line including orange, raspberry, and rum. In 1930, Ritter SPORT moved to a larger factory in Waldenbuch, where it remains today. Out of a typical need to carry chocolate on the go, came Ritter SPORT’s classic square shape and name. In 1990, Euro-American Brands began importing Ritter SPORT.
