We’ve been in our element since the MacAskill brothers rowed across the ocean from Eigg to Skye to establish the Talisker distillery in 1830. In fact, by as early as 1898, Talisker was one of the best-selling malt whiskies in the UK. Every day the sea shapes who we are and what we do...Whether in terms of the unique salt tang, powerful flavour and strong character that define our whisky or the way one little distillery has clung to the shores of Skye for almost 200 years, enduring gales, storms and fire. Throughout, this northern outpost – Skye’s oldest distillery – has remained strong: producing consistently fine whiskies which, once tried, are rarely forgotten.
