Mentioned for the first time in the "Vieux Papiers du Libournais", Domaine de l'Eglise is the eldest estate on Pomerol's popular plateau. Originally owned by the church it served as a hospital for people with a disease that were thus kept out of the city of Libourne. As the name suggests, Domaine de l'Eglise is located next to Pomerols church, close to Château Petrus.
