Robert Chesebrough is a chemist from New York. In 1859, he visited the oil fields of Titusville, Pennsylvania in the US. Aiming to find out what new materials might be obtained from the fuel. Before opening for business in 1870, Robert improved the formulation of Vaseline petroleum jelly. Vaseline quickly became known for its ability to protect and restore dry and damaged skin.
