In 1979, POMO started in the food industry business from Broumana, Lebanon manufacturing natural potato chips, extruded snacks, and fried potato pallets. By the end of 1984, upon the surging interest in healthy food POMO designed a new division. It was involved in the production of nutritious foods as puffed rice cakes, corn cakes, and puffed wheat cakes. After the war in 1994, POMO initiated corn chips and tortilla production which instantly had a huge hit in the market. Consequently, Flour Tortilla was introduced in early 1996. POMO also managed to produce its type of pure bread without sugar, salt, or yeast.
